Up and Running Again
Today was the first time for a while that both of us have been well enough to get out and about. The pic is of me midst a cloud of begonias at the Botanical Gardens. The day was a Sydney spring jewel - hot sun, cool breeze, ultramarine sky. Everwhere you could hear people saying, “ What a GLORIOUS day ! “The Opera House looked pristine from the Tarpeian Rock in the gardens. So this is my ” nice “ post after my last two political posts which bored or offended some of my friends but made me feel SWELL !Religion next......bring it on ! I enjoy snapping at those who think blogs should be like a Victorian hostess’s dinner conversation:” no politics, no religion, no sex....sorry, lots of sex”I guess I lied, I’m not really “ nice “.

Wow! You two really have blessed me with fabulous images this morning! Thank you!*kisses Bill**flashes the Victorian hostess**goes back to getting ready to face the cold (2C) rainy day!*
Maybe we can throw a few politicians off of it...
Why do I think that, after a late start, you are getting quite a kick out of LJ now. It shows.Anyway glad to have your mouthy presence back in shape again. The pictures are lovely, by the way. Did you threaten to shoot your service provider or something?
Thank-you dear Spock. I loved the pictures of beautiful you and your beautiful kids and your beautiful cat.
Keep an eye on my lj then... later today I shall grace you with a picture of the back of my cat. It's not graceful... but hell, I got a smile out of it!
Well, HE is arriving in a few hours. Wouldn't it be fun Brutus? One- two- three- HEAVE! ! ! Some purse-lipped, prim , uniformed bitch on TV tonight announced that the public would have no access to the persident- surprise, surprise ! He's arriving with an entourage of hundreds of securtity men and chefs (heaven forbid he should have to try any foreign muck). The barriers around Parliament house have been moved back by about a mile and a half and anyone with a megaphone will be arrested. A tribute to his enormous popularity here.
After over a week of being given the run around , Ian put me on the phone. I bullied the flak-catcher into putting me on to a supervisor. I spoke to him for about ten minutes. When we finished, I think he was in tears. Service was resumed first thing this morning. What's your minister's phone number?
Wahoo!! He's back! And flowered!! And, may I please use the Sydney Opera house for a puzzle some time?
I set up the shot, Ian pressed the button. Just try to get something off him that's his. We would both be extremely honoured to be puzzled again. The pity is that with our Mac OS we can't join in.
that is, umm, incredible. His own cooks? Well the family does have a penchant for barfing on people at state dinners as you may recall. A mile and a half? Some auctoritas, and some dignitas indeed. I wwonder if they are being preserved or eroded by that? I am shaking my head over this. All no doubt done in the name of national security I bet.
it's true!! i heard so many people use just those words it's a glorious day today! and wasn't it just!
beautiful as always... and welcome back to feeling better.
well you know what they say about opinions? they are like uh well, you know bumholes. everyone has them but there isn't always a need to share them. Meaning that if some folks don't like your expressions, well they have the right not to look at em. You however have every right to express yourself to your hearts delight. Say it show it express it. I for one am pretty tired of someone else's expectation or gentle sensitivities. so for me when it come to anything you want to say... just say it. nice pics
Just blog it all. :)
Excellent - a dual artistry!!! Thank you. I am sorry about all the Mac people getting left out. That is the pits.
hee! I like your incendiary posts! Oooh, great hat. You're quite the dapper chap!
Mazel tov! It would be good to see some Happy Bunny Posts™ for a while, since the political ones seem to correlate to times when y'all're feeling down.
Not quite. The agro, politico, bitter posts correllate to the times when I'm on the way up again. I start to feel angry, start to lash out a bit and in no time at all, I'm feeling much better.See, I told you I'm not "nice".
I'm glad someone likes them, but I don't care too much, The dapper look is acheived by accidentally sitting on said hat for one or two hours with monotonous regularity.
How lovely to hear from you Van, I thought recent controversies had caused us to be banished. I want to blog it all, but haven't attempted the hard stuff (family) yet. I still find it hard to hurt the feeling of people who haven't minded hurting mine.
My most relentless critic and censor is myself. He's the one I have to stand up to.
That's nice, I mean in the nicest possible way. It's good to be up off the canvas and back into the fray.
If only a year consisted of March to May, then September to December, I'd be in a state of bliss.
The pits it is! Macs used to be way ahead but PC's have caught up. Windows still have those built-in vulnerabilities though. We don't have much virus trouble, except when our server does.
This is the first time the public have been kept away from Parliament. Until former PM Bob Hawke broke with tradition and allowed G. Bush 1 to address Parliament, no one but members of Parliament were allowed to speak there. A tradition more honoured in the observance than the breach, I think.
That is a brilliant photo of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. A welcome change from the normal river view.I find LJ is quite lacking in good australian political views, I enjoyed reading those. (sorry, I found your journal by a random interest! I'm Jodie, nice to meet you!)
